Invitation to apply for St. John’s Pastoral Council
This year, the Council is recruiting four parishioners to serve the parish as council members.
The mission of the Pastoral Council is to help unite the parishioners, parish staff, and clergy in a community of prayer, study, leadership, service, and pastoral action. We are a vibrant parish blessed with 2,700 registered families, a school, and over 60 different commissions, committees, ministries, and auxiliary organizations. The Pastoral Council meets once a month and during that time, the Council hears from each of those groups throughout the year while also focusing on coordinating annual pastoral goals for the parish, addressing pastoral needs within the parish structure, and facilitating communication between parish organizations. We have been personally humbled by the dedication and commitment of St. John’s faith in action.
As a current council members, we would like to invite you to prayerfully consider submitting your name for consideration via the online application form no later than May 10th. The requirements to serve on the Council are that you’re at least 21 years of age and have been a registered member of the parish for at least one year. We strive to have a diverse council to represent all our parishioners. Members serve a three-year term with new members rotating on each year. This is a rewarding experience and a tangible way to serve the parish.
If you’re interested, please complete the fillable online application and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’d like to speak personally to a current council member to get a better understanding of what a PC member’s role entails, please reach out to an executive council member. Our email addresses are listed below. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you and God bless,
