Bereavement Ministry

Committee members send cards and CareNotes to parishioners who have experienced the loss of a parent, spouse, child or sibling.  Sponsors an All Souls liturgy in November for babies who are stillborn or miscarried and for all children who have passed away. Plans grief workshops/presentations.

Compassion and Cancer Support Ministry

Supports parish members diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening illness by home visits, telephone calls and/or prayer. Offers a summarized list of practical help resources to those affected with/by cancer. 

Care & Compassion

Provides home-cooked meals to families afflicted with illness, disability, or in grief.

Couple to Couple League

Dedicated to promoting and teaching fertility awareness (Natural Family Planning) to married and engaged couples. The Main Series class teaches the Sympto-Thermal Method which can be used to avoid or help achieve pregnancy (3-Class Session). Pre-Menopause (1-Class Session) and Post-Partum (1-Class Session) classes are also offered.

 

Class Sessions are scheduled during the academic year: 1st Wednesday from 5:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., Church Library, Nursery Provided.

Hospitality Ministry

Light meals are provided for families following a funeral held at Saint John’s. Volunteers help to prepare food, set-up, serve, and clean-up. Volunteers help to prepare food, set-up, serve, and clean-up for other church events. 

Knit One Pray Two

Knits/crochets prayer shawls, prayer angels, blankets, caps, and bookmarks for those suffering from cancer or other serious illnesses. Prays for the ill as well as reads scripture.

Daytime Group meets academic year: Monday at 1:00 p.m., All Purpose Room. 

Evening Group meets academic year: FirstThursday at 6:30 p.m., All Purpose Room.  

Married Fellowship

Builds community among the married couples through small-group social gatherings centered on faith-oriented discussions. The typical format is Dinner – Discussion – Dessert. All married couples in the parish are welcome. Small Groups typically meet monthly at individual homes.

Mommy & Me

Mommy & Me Playgroup is a chance for mothers of young children to get together and chat while their children play.

Natural Family Planning

Provides support, encouragement, and information regarding all methods of NFP. Welcomes couples currently practicing NFP and those seeking to learn to practice NFP. We work in conjunction with the Pro-Life & Pro-Family Ministry.

Pro-Life & Pro-Family

Focus is centered on the Catholic teachings of the sacredness of life, from conception to natural death, and the critical role of family as the domestic Church. We provide education events, community outreach activities, materials and resources on pro-life & pro-family topics We work in conjunction with the Natural Family Planning Ministry.

Quilting Ministry

Experienced and beginning quilters celebrate life by enjoying fellowship, learning quilting skills, and making baby quilts to be donated to the Life Choices Programs at Choose Life Group

 

Meets for Four Sessions (6 to 10 weeks each) throughout the year: Thursdays 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., All Purpose Room. 

Prime Timers - Senior Fellowship

Provides spiritual and social programs for all 50+ parishioners. Plans monthly social gatherings to include potlucks, luncheons, theater outings, day trips, etc. When possible, coordinates rides to senior events for those who request it.

 

Meets academic year: 1st Thursday at 1:00 p.m., Library 

Special Needs Ministry

Women's Ministry

Core team members plan quarterly dinner events and programs for women to grow in faith and fellowship. Events are typically scheduled on Saturday evening following the 5:30 p.m. Mass.

 

Meets as needed: usually 3 months prior to each scheduled event. 

Young Adult Fellowship
